Communities In Progress
The mission of Communities in Progress (CIP), a charitable nonprofit organization, is: to provide resources for economic success in our communities. CIP was established as a poverty-reduction project of WSU Extension in Stevens County in collaboration with local community members, and funded by a grant from Horizons. Goals, Activities & Projects
Current goals are focused on:
• Supporting the Computer Skills Center,
• Supporting local businesses by offering opportunities for community interaction,
• Developing a sense of our greater community by connecting with surrounding communities, and
• Soliciting the needs of our communities from citizens attending our events.
Communities in Progress’s (CIP) recent and planned activities include:
Business Appreciation: hosting the annual Business Appreciation Spaghetti Luncheon/Dinner at the Valley Elementary School. Valley Fair: On the Friday of the Valley Fair, CIP will provide an awesome bratwurst & sauerkraut BBQ. The 'kraut is a special recipe from Shirley Kimball, which she perfected when she and her husband Mike had Kimball's Kitchen. The BBQ is CIP’s fall fundraiser. Our Fall Music in the Park event includes a talent show. We will also be sponsoring a annual Spring Fling music fest.
